Well that's what I thought, but try telling that to the Montreal weather. After some really mild weather (which melted most of the snow) we've just had a full-on -15c winter storm with 20-25cm of snow. As a Brit that hardly ever sees snow, I of course loved it, not everyone was quite as happy about it as me.
One somewhat disconcerting effect of snowfall is the snow ploughs. Not for the first time I woke up recently at 4am with the whole house vibrating. A combination of our house's wooden construction and scraping a heavy steel plate on the ground (aka snow plough) definitely has an effect on our walls - literally makes them vibrate. Made Allison & I think of the 3 little pigs nursey rhyme. One huff and puff and snow-plough too many and it feels like our house could quite literally be blown down. (Please don't let that put you off visiting though) am sure it's safe
