Well yes, of course we knew it would take longer than we planned. Which is why (like good project managers should) we added an extra 10% contingency, and then a little more.
However, events, sheer volume of work, and yes, lack of experience in shop fitting, has caused our rebuild to over-run slightly. We remain however (depsite the occasional tantrum) undeterred and hope to be open sometime early May. Note I don’t say 1st of May - it really does depend… on the weather… on our contractors… on the stars being properly aligned, etc. I must say though, it’s very frustrating to see other ice cream parlours starting to open, and us still being a month away. Ah well… all going well, next year we’ll be open way before them.
